Mom's Favorites

Tyler and Makenzie went to bed about 9:00 last night, slept until 5:30 a.m., ate and went back to bed until about 9:30 this morning.

Mom didn't know what to do with herself, although she said she didn't sleep very soundly from about 3:00 on.

I imagine she'll get over that. :)

Tomorrow I'm headed to Sam's to stock up before I go to see Uncle Jason, Auntie Angela and Brian. Someone has to hit Sam's about every three weeks. Too bad formula doesn't reflect the falling milk prices plaguing our local dairy farmers.

But, we are at 3 1/2 months, so almost a third of the way through the first year. The babies are eating cereal in the evenings (which has really helped with the sleeping issues).

And everything continues to go extremely well!

Pictures

Obviously Mom and Konner being gone was very stressful for Dad, Tyler and Makenzie. When we got in, this is how they reacted. Sleeping . . . (wait for it) . . . like babies! :)

Konner and I had ice cream at the mall.

And poor Mom -- the only picture I took of her that day and she had her mouth full.

Just in case you missed the shower pictures . . . this was about a month before the babies were born.

Konner was SO excited to see Mimi in Lubbock!

March 5, 2009

Okay, as bloggers go, I'm not doing so well lately. I did get to spend the weekend with the Johnsons. Chele and Konner met me in Lubbock on Saturday, and we went shopping. Nothing like a little mall time to remind us how much we DON'T like being around that many people!

We did manage to last long enough to buy a couple of things, including the first Easter dress! And it is SO cute! Chele still has to find a big bow to go with it. The poor boys will be stuck in some cute shorts and shirts, I imagine.

And of course we hit Sam's with a vengeance. It takes so little time to run up a huge bill there.

Then we headed for Hobbs to see Gary and the babies. He did an amazing job with them, again -- as always. He had the option of shopping instead of staying with babies, but for some reason elected not to meet me in Lubbock.

The babies are doing great! They eat cereal in the evenings, then sleep about 5-6 hours before they get up, eat a quick bottle and go back down for another 3-4 hours. Chele looks much more rested than she had at first. She could still use a night or two without waking up. :)

She had a disaster a couple of days ago. The batteries for one swing went dead, and that meant only one baby was sleeping at a time. She said she will not let that happen again without a backup set. It was a long day.

And today was bath day for the babies. It's such a process that she only gets it done every other day. Konner wanted a bath too, but she said not right then. She had other things to get done, and he gets a bath every night anyway. Well, he got his bathtub crayons and colored all over himself -- including his feet -- so he got a bath anyway.

Makenzie is needing lots of attention right now. She likes to be held. A lot. Tyler is really laid back, especially in comparison to Makenzie, and he snuggles up against you.

And the spring weather has been great. Konner loves to be outside, so Chele manages to get him out pretty often.

Pictures will follow, but not tonight.
