Feb. 15, 2009 . . . 2 1/2 months old

It's been over a week now since I've seen these three . . . I'm having shakes and migraines, but I guess I have to suffer through. It was Grandma/Nana and Papa's turn to be there for the long weekend. :)

Mom and Konner had a slight cold this week, but both are better now. Mom is still stuffy, but Konner is good. And the babies are good!

Kenzie looks terrified but she is obviously holding herself up well for a baby so young. Dr. Reddy's developmental delays and adjusted age? Nah, Mimi doesn't think so. Mimi thinks we are almost ready for a shopping expedition. In a bubble. With no other people around who might be coughing or want to touch her.

Tyler doesn't seem to be having any issues either. He's watching the game -- I forget which one, but he's definitely rooting his team on. He has gotten so much better at eating that he and Kenzie now use the same kind of bottles/nipples. But he doesn't eat from pink ones.
And Tyler was especially thoughtful to Mom this morning at 5:00 when she had to get up and feed Kenzie -- but not Tyler. So she went back to bed for a little bit!
PS -- Happy Birthday, Dad!

Check up today

Mom and Dad and all the kids went to the doctor today. It was checkup time, and all the little people got shots.

Konner is 33 inches tall (height of a two year old), and 29 pounds (weight of a three year old), but Dr. Reddy said he is pleased with his height and his development. His vocabulary is advanced for an 18-month old . . . duh, I knew that!

Tyler is 20.25 inches tall and weighs 9 lb 15 oz. Makenzie is also 9 lb 15 oz, and is 20.5 inches tall. They are both the right size, according to Dr. Reddy, and developing on schedule for their adjusted age. He reminded us to expect development milestones based on their due date rather than their actual birth date.

He also commented on all three of them having their mom's pretty blue eyes. :)

As of about 7 this evening, no one was reacting to the immunizations.

So, as usual, life in the Johnson House is blessed!

Here's the evidence

I submit these as evidence of abuse . . . Poor little Kenzie asleep in her own comfortable bed without anyone crowding her. And I'm not sure what the story is here . . . just that he didn't make it through the meal without crashing.

This is what I was talking about in an earlier post. Tyler is zonked out in Mom and Dad's bed(that's Chele's arm in the foreground). And she says I spoil them. :)
I saw an article a few days ago that was called something about "sharing beds leads to suffocation" -- and it really concerned me because at that time the babies were sleeping together. When I read it, I realized it was actually about babies regularly sleeping in the bed with their parents -- not propped face up on a boppy pillow.
Chele seems to be doing really well. I'm so proud of her! She does what needs to be done, and doesn't worry about the rest. She was making brownies tonight with mint chocolate chips in them . . . Wish I was there!

February already?

Too many days have passed since I was on here! One thing that has happened is that the babies are sleeping in separate beds. Tyler seems to really enjoy it. Kenzie still likes her time alone with Mom. I think she sleeps once she goes down, but it's still after midnight most nights.

Of course, from what I observed Sunday morning, she has to do what she can to get a little attention. Tyler sleeps really well when he's in Mom's bed and poor little Kenzie is left all alone in the nursery. I have evidence -- pictures I took with Mom's camera, but I haven't managed to get those from Mom yet.

Mom's story is that Tyler woke up an hour early for morning feeding, so she put him in the boppy pillow next to her so they could doze. He slept through Kenzie waking up and Mimi feeding her, and even through Mimi using the flash on the camera. So I'm not so sure of that story. :)

Let's see, what else? Konner loves to talk on the phone, although with me, he says "Mimi" and follows it immediately with "Bobo?" As in, Mimi's okay but I really want to know where Bobo is.

Mom has been unreasonable to him lately, making him eat vegetables and meat instead of just biscuits or cornbread. He is going through a stage of not being as crazy about regular food -- and he really doesn't like meat of any kind right now except hot dogs -- but he loves bananas and apples.

The weather has been so nice that Konner and Dad got out for a while on Saturday, just doing guy things.

The babies are on regular formula now, and have a checkup this coming Friday. They are due for shots, so Dad has to go to the doctor with them this time.

Nana visited the Johnsons with Mimi this past weekend. That woman is absolutely ridiculous when it comes to the grandkids (in her case, great-grandkids). I can't imagine anyone acting as goofy as she does about every little thing they do or say. I'm surprised she can even walk in this condition, wrapped firmly around Konner's, Kenzie's and Tyler's pinky fingers.

Why yes, I do believe that could be the pot referring to the kettle. :)
